My friend Deepak's piece

चलती हैं आंखे मिलती हैं यादें क़दम-क़दम पे
चाहे तो लेकर चल या झटक दे किसी मोड़ पे

Transcending into divine consciousness

India is home to deep rooted culture and spirituality. Many often mistake Hinduism to be a polytheistic religion. But like all other beliefs Hinduism too follows monotheism. The 300 million Gods and goddesses who find mention in the sacred scriptures are not the Supreme but a part of it. They are indeed manifestations of the WHOLE. The WHOLE is none other but the BRAHMAN (HIRANAYA GARBA or the Golden Womb) which is the source of all creations and galaxies.

Spirituality can justifiably be a synonym to Hinduism which is actually Sanatana Dharma, a way of life.

Talking about spirituality in India, Dance and Music form quintessential parts. In the Indian Sub-continent, Dance is not meant for entertainment. It is treated like a form of worship. It is clearly one of the earliest forms of worship. The Cave art from the early prehistoric times bears witness to the supremacy of dance. Indian Classical Dances includes all movements that convey or develop spiritual knowledge.

Indian Classical Dances help an individual attain a connection close to the Divine spiritually inclining him. When a person gets in touch with the divine he surpasses the materialistic world. He finds himself amidst peace enlightening his soul and making him complete. His union with the Divine helps him grow both within and without.

Historical records reveal that dance in India has always been connected with spirituality and the effervescent pulse of the cosmic life. People in India have always considered dance as sacred. They have imbibed it as a means of transcending into divine consciousness.

Nataraja famously known as Shiva is the patron saint of the sacred dance. Nataraja means the King of the Dancers. Ananda Cooramaswamy, an eminent Indian scholar is of the opinion that the dance of Nataraja is an expression of the original rhythmic force which has three meanings: first, rhythmic play, the source of all movement within the cosmos; second, the purpose of his dance is to release the countless souls of mankind from the snare of illusion; and finally, the place of dance, Chidambaram, the center of the universe, is within the heart.

Indian Classical Dancers feel that their dance forms are overwhelmingly spiritual. The practice of dance finds mention in India's earliest literature, the Vedas. They have always accompanied religious ceremonies. Indian Classical Dances are deeply philosophical and highly spiritual

My Mission

With an aim to unfold real India and to revive the sub-continent's and to revive the sub-continent's lost glory, I have initiated this blog and with great sincerity and dedication.

It saddens me deeply to see my nation uprooting itself from its ground and to see my people mindlessly aping the west leaves me dumbfounded and scandalised.

To imbibe the good isn't wrong but while doing so detaching oneself from his/her original identity is like plunging into a pool of crisis in the longer run. Something which is popularly known as "Identity Crisis".

With contributions from various learned men and women from different walks of life and their words of wisdom, I hereby seek your support to help and reach as many people as possible to present to them real India or 'Bharat' (as the locals address the nation as )that once used to be known as "Sone Ki Chidiya" (meaning- Golden Bird).
